San Bernardino County has completed its annual count of its homeless population.
Hundreds of volunteers, including all five members of the board of supervisors and Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk Josie Gonzales, participated in the 2026 Point-In-Time Count on Jan. 22, according to a statement on the county’s website.
This year’s count of sheltered and unsheltered individuals featured a mobile team that provided emergency housing, temporary shelter and other support services for people living on the street.
“The annual count is more than just collecting data,” said Marcus Dillard, chief of the county’s Office of Homeless Services, in the statement. “It’s an opportunity to connect people experiencing homelessness to housing and support services that can help them move towards stability.”
This year’s count featured a “story map” that included count details, volunteer training schedules, instructional videos for setting up the mobile app, a map of deployment sites and volunteer resources.
Count results will be released later this year.

So NOW what?! You did the head count, so now what’s the NEXT STEP? What are you going to do with the homeless population? Where will they go? What resources do you have besides coming here and bragging to your readers and taxpayers you did a head count.
I could have done that with half of your lazy staff and half of the money. Doing the headcount was the easy part, now give them the services they desperately need place them in homes, mental institutions and those who belong in jail put them in jail and don’t turn a blind eye.
We want to see RESULTS RESULTS RESULTS! That’s it, then you can come back here and demand your bragging rights!
You’re absolutely right I’ve been homeless for over 15 years and still haven’t got help!
