San Bernardino library reopens

Paul Villaseñor Library in San Bernardino has reopened, one year after it shut down for repairs.

The facility at 525 N. Mt. Vernon Ave. returned to operation Jan. 22 with a remodeled community room that can accommodate 75 people and upgraded rest rooms, according to a statement on the city’s website.

Other repairs were also included. Some services, including public computers and Wi-Fi,  remain down as part of a systemwide upgrade.

“Villaseñor Library is an important part of San Bernardino’s west side,” said “Villaseñor Library is an important part of San Bernardino’s Westside,” said Ed Erjavek, the city’s library director, in the statement. “The programs are very popular, especially with the kids, and its absence was noticed. The staff is especially happy to be back.”

Paul Villaseñor Library has an estimated 22,000 book titles, more than 3,500 of which are in Spanish, according to the statement.
