Palm Springs program offers business rebates

Palm Springs’ Office of Sustainability is looking to help businesses during the economic downturn.

The Sustainability Scholarship Program offers rebates of up to $750 to licensed businesses to help pay costs associated with sustainability-related expenses, according to a statement on the city’s website.

Funds can be used for multiple items, including installation of water-efficient equipment, recycling management fees and containers and installing charging stations for electric vehicles.

Businesses must be in good standing with the city – no outstanding fines, for example – to be eligible for the program, which is trying to make it easier for businesses to comply with environmental mandates.
