A senior-assisted living village for the LGBT community is scheduled to open this summer in Palm Springs.
Stonewall Gardens, a 24-unit project, is being developed at 2150 N. Palm Canyon Road, according to a report published in The Press-Enterprise.
The project will be managed by Redding-based Northstar. It’s being described as a senior-assisted village that will service the LGBT community, according to the report.
Construction on Stonewall Gardens has been underway since late March. Similar projects have been proposed in the past for the Coachella Valley, including one by tennis great Billie Jean King, but all of them were derailed by the recession, according to the report.
