Senior housing project under construction in downtown Riverside

Construction has started on a 95-unit affordable senior housing project in Riverside.

Oasis Senior Villas is expected to be finished in the summer of 2023, according to a statement by R.D. Olson Construction in Irvine, the project’s general contractor.

The four-building development, half of which will be for homeless seniors diagnosed with mental illness, is being built at 2340 14th St. near the 91 Freeway. It will cover nearly 81,900 square feet and will have 95 apartment units, 82 one-bedroom and 13 two-bedroom.

Amenities will include a bocce court, barbeques, outdoor space for small events, community room, fitness center, computer and conference rooms and ample parking.

R.D. Olson, which builds multi-unit properties on behalf of several national developers, is partnering with A Community of Friends in Los Angeles and DE Architects in Santa Monica on Oasis Senior Villas, according to the statement.
