Moreno Valley will open its first satellite branch library later this month.
A grand opening ceremony is scheduled to be held Dec. 21 at the facility, which will be on the second floor of the Moreno Valley Mall next to Home Town Buffet and across from Sears, according to a statement on the city’s website.
“Opening a satellite library was a top priority of our residents when we conducted surveys while developing the City’s first strategic plan. I’m proud that we accomplished this project in just 16 months,” Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez said in the statement.
“Empowering our residents through open access to knowledge is a key component in our strategic vision for the Moreno Valley community.”
All Moreno Valley residents are encouraged to attend the event, which is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Other activities will include raffles, face painting, balloon artist, anime drawing classes and a magician, according to the statement.
