Inland water recycled finishes renovation

An organic waste recycling company has finished renovating its Ontario facility, a move expected to reduce waste and provide greater protection for the Santa Ana watershed.

RE:CIRCLE completed the upgrade of its facility at 170 N. Turner Ave. in partnership with Inland Empire Waterkeeper, a clean-water advocacy group dedicated to protecting the Santa Ana watershed, according to a statement released by RE:CIRCLE.

Cost of the project was not disclosed.

RE:CIRCLE’s Ontario facility has put into place a stormwater capture and reuse system that collects rainfall, then filters and reuses it within the food-waste recycling process. That supports the company’s goal of creating an economic system based on the reuse and regeneration of materials.

Stormwater runoff from industrial facilities is a threat to water quality, because pollutants can flow into storm drains and harm bodies of water, according to the system.
