Threshold Aviation Adds Hangar

Threshold Aviation Group has expanded its operations at Chino Airport.

The company that manages, stores and refurbishes private jets for clients worldwide has acquired Hangar 1, one of four hangers at the San Bernardino County-owned airport, according to a statement released today.

Hangar 1 has about 50,000 square feet to accommodate airplanes, 8,000 square feet of office space another 8,000 square feet upstairs for parts storage. Hangar 1, like the three other hangars in the complex, has approximately 50,000 square feet of open hangar space with an additional 8,000 square feet of office space and another 8,000 square feet of upstairs space primarily used for parts storage.  Threshold also occupies Hangars 3 and 4.

Business slowed at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic but has increased recently because people must make work-related trips and they can’t do so on commercial airlines, said  Mark DiLullo, founder and chief executive officer of Threshold Aviation.

“We needed more space before Covid-19 hit, and then things looked somewhat bleak for a while,” DiLullo said in the statement. “Even if someone wanted to fly, there was nowhere to fly to. Now people are looking for options to get to and from where they need to go, and private aviation is a more reasonable option than ever.”

Threshold will also be hiring more employees and is currently looking for Airframe and Power Plant Mechanics as well as other skilled workers.  The company has approximately 200 employees currently and has a partnership to produce trainees through Chaffey College.
