City to discuss final redistricting plans

Palm Springs will hold a special public meeting Monday to discuss the city’s shift to district elections.

The meeting is scheduled to be held at 6 p.m. in the city council chambers at city hall, 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, according to a statement on the city’s website.

During the meeting, the final district voting boundary map will be discussed and an ordinance will be introduced that is designed to protect the voting rights of Palm Springs while ensuring the city is complying with the California Voting Rights Act.

Public comment is encouraged.

The meeting will be broadcast live on Palm Springs Community Television Ch. 17 or online at www.palmspringasca.gov.
