SB County workers reject contract

San Bernardino County workers have rejected a contract they say would have eliminated raises while raising their healthcare costs.

The agreement, which would have affected members of the San Bernardino Public Employees Association, also would have required workers to pay a seven percent retirement to their retirement fund, according to a report published in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.

That contribution is currently paid by the county.

On Monday, more than 3,500 workers voted against the contract, while 2,001 workers voted to accept it. Both parties are expected to resume negotiations soon, according to the report.
