It’s getting so hot even Palm Spring is starting to notice.
The city will host its inaugural Extreme Heat Summit Sept. 18 at the Palm Springs Convention Center, according to a statement on the city’s website.
The full-day event will include government leaders, researchers, public health professionals, emergency managers, urban planners, nonprofit organizations, and members of the business community.
Individual speakers and panels will discuss how to establish heat resilience planning and policy, climate adaptation and preparing for how to prepare for heat-related emergencies, among other topics.
